Their orchestra would perform for more than twenty days in a month, and night after night, Yasaswi found himself soaking in all the rhythms and melodies emanating from the stage.
By the age of 10, he became so well-versed with the keyboard that he became part of the orchestra and used to play the instrument for three hours at a stretch. Under his parents’ guidance, he was trained in singing from Pranalingam garu for six months. The high point of his budding career as a singer and a musician came when he played three songs for the legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam garu during a concert. Yasaswi was just 12 years old when this incident happened, and SP Balu garu was so impressed with his talent that he praised him whole-heartedly and showered his blessings on Yasaswi.
Currently, Yasaswi is pursuing his MBBS degree in Andhra Medical College, Vishakapatnam. But he never gave up on his passion for music and singing. Soon after joining this medical college, Yasaswi formed a band which he named YK CONCERT. His sister Kondepudi Sankeerthana, who is a singer and also an MBBS student at Rangaraya Medical College, Kakinada, and a few other students are part of this band which regularly performs in and around Vizag.
His dedication towards music and his relentless efforts to achieve bigger things in life earned him a spot in Zee Telugu’s SA RE GA MA PA talent show, and his first performance, when he sang Life Of Ram, made him a household name. He credits his success to his parents and SP Balu’s garu blessings, and time and again, Yasaswi has stated that they are the guiding light in his life.
Yasaswi has already made his foray as a playback singer with the song, Gaganamu Daati Egaraali Choodu, composed by RR Dhruvan, from the movie Miles of Love. Amidst all this, he has been flooded with offers to sing in many stage shows, both locally and abroad, and several music directors have evinced interest to work with him. Yasaswi’s musical journey has been long, but he’s only getting started to showcase his true potential to the world.
